Dougie Lee Poynter (nacido el 30 de Noviembre de 1987 en Corringham, Essex,Inglaterra).
Es el bajista y vocalista de la banda británica McFly que junto a los otros componentes Danny Jones, Tom Fletcher y Harry Judd alcanzo la fama después de lanzar su primer single “Five Colours In Her Hair”, que alcanzo en #1 en las listas como hizo a continuación su álbum debut Room On The Third Floor, McFly estaba en el sello discográfico de Island Recordsantes de crear su propio sello discográfico, Super Records en diciembre del 2007. Poynter es el miembro más joven del grupo, empezó en el con 15 años.McFLY [editar]McFly se alzó a la fama gracias a la banda Busted quienes los agregaron a su gira en el 2004, como teloneros. La banda empezó cuando Tom Fletcher se presentó a una audición para Busted donde conoció a Danny Jones, pero no fue elegido. Desde entonces empezó una amistad con Danny Jones, y anunciaron en una revista que estaban en búsqueda de un bajista y un bateria para formar una banda: gracias a esto conoció a Dougie Poynter y Harry Judd y luego llamaron al grupo así por el protagonista Marty McFly de la película Regreso al Futuro favorita de Tom Fletcher, creador de la banda. Batieron el récord que tenían los Beatles, como la banda más joven en llegar al número 1, precisamente, gracias a que Dougie tenía sólo 16 años. Él fue el que escribió las canciones Transylvania (junto con Tom), Ignorance, Silence Is A Scary Sound (la cual tocaba también con su antigua banda llamada Ataiz) y Down Goes Another One, de su último disco Radio: ACTIVE.
